“Bavaria’s Best 50”: GIGATRONIK wins Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs’ promotional prize

In Munich, for the 14th time, awards have been given to the 50 medium-sized enterprises in Bavaria with the strongest growth. The award winners included the GIGATRONIK branch in Ingolstadt, which has achieved significant growth in the number of its employees and its sales in recent years.

The distinction of “Bavaria’s Best 50” is awarded annually by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology. It honours companies that seek out and consistently exploit new opportunities for growth and employment. The Ministry sees middle-sized enterprises as “the backbone of our economy”, thereby paying tribute to their important economic contribution. Minister for Economy Ilse Aigner is impressed by the performance of the award-winning enterprises: “Our award winners include hidden champions, personnel-intensive and highly innovative service providers, successful traders, high-tech companies from industry and first-class craft businesses. All of them provide sustainable jobs and apprenticeships and safeguard our prosperity throughout Bavaria.”

Dr.-Ing. Edwin Tscheschlok, Chair of the GIGATRONIK Group Management Board, and Rudolf Eberl, Head of Human Resources in Ingolstadt. jointly received the prize at the award ceremony at the Munich Residenz. “The award signifies a great recognition of the achievements of our employees,” said Tscheschlok, “and makes it clear that sustainable business growth and high willingness to train always pay off. We at Ingolstadt, as well as in the whole group, want to continue on this path.” The last five years were taken into consideration when assessing the employee and turnover figures. According to Head of HR Rudolf Eberl, the headcount at Ingolstadt almost doubled from 115 employees in 2011 to 203 employees in 2015. Currently, Bavarian SMEs account for 99.7 per cent of all companies and 76 per cent of employees subject to social-insurance contributions in Bavaria.
