GIGATRONIK is taking part in the development of a diverse app portfolio for the Fleetboard store with applications relating to trucks. The platform is to include solutions for individual customer needs in the fields of truck transport and logistics. A first app project from GIGATRONIK has already been started. Even in 2017, Fleetboard customers in Germany will be able to benefit from the apps.

GIGATRONIK is currently developing an app for commercial vehicles with tipper bodies. The application makes it easier for truck drivers to unload bulk materials (e.g. sand or gravel) by letting them visualise their distribution over the ground even before unloading. As a result, the driver has his load even better under control and can work more safely and efficiently.

In future, Fleetboard customers will be able to choose the apps conveniently from their head office and send them over the air to individual vehicles or the entire fleet. Subsequently, the apps will be available to the drivers for use on special tablets, the DispoPilot.guides. These high-resolution tablets are brand independent and may be used portably and flexibly as they are removable.

Daimler Fleetboard belongs to the Europe-wide market-leading suppliers of connectivity solutions for trucks and buses. At present, around 6,000 customers with 180,000 vehicles are using Fleetboard. The Daimler subsidiary's modular and universal telematics system provides data concerning drivers, vehicle fleet and contract. It networks all relevant players in the logistics system and thereby creates transparency across all levels.
