Topping-out ceremony at the new GIGATRONIK and EFS site in Gaimersheim

With a view over Gaimersheim and the surrounding area, the topping-out address for the new common site of GIGATRONIK and EFS was given on June 25. More than 9,000 m² spread over 7 floors will be available here from the beginning of 2015.

In his enthusiastic speech on the roof terrace of the imposing new building, GIGATRONIK CEO Josef Freistetter praised the excellent cooperation between the executing builders GOLDBECK, GIGATRONIK and not least Lady Mayoress Andrea Mickel and District Administrator Anton Knapp, representing the Community and the State. This allowed the construction project, the groundbreaking ceremony for which took place in November 2013, to run smoothly until today. With completion planned for mid-December 2014, everything is absolutely on schedule. Architect Jürgen Taubmann reiterated that the new building is the tallest building in the area, stating a few statistics for the new headquarters of GIGATRONIK and EFS in his speech: around 550 tons of steel, 9000 m² of structural slabs and many more than 200 prefabricated components have gone into the construction of the 7-storey building.

By the time of the topping-out ceremony on June 25, the lower floors had already fitted with interior walls, giving an idea of the 450 workspaces planned at Dr.-Ludwig-Kraus-Strasse 6. In order to use the site as a common base for GIGATRONIK and EFS employees, and also to be able to handle entire technical subprojects, in addition to the laboratory and office space there are about 1500 m² of workshop space available, filling the entire ground floor. Additional development possibilities are also opened up by the bridge connection on the second floor between the garage and main building, allowing vehicles to be driven directly into the laboratory.

As of early 2015, the new innovation centre is to be used in addition to the existing GIGATRONIK site, offering GIGATRONIK and EFS the best opportunities to create technological innovations and to continuously strengthen the cooperation with the main customer AUDI.
